Crown Street is a one-stop luxury grooming and wellness center located in Downtown Jacksonville, North Carolina. We provide high-quality services for hair, skin, and nails—all under one roof. meet Anthony “Tulo“ Perez

Anthony "Tulo" Perez grew up on Crown Street in Brooklyn, surrounded by family, friendships, and community—it was more than an address; it was home. At 14, he moved with his mother to the Bronx, and a year later took his first job at Miguel's Barbershop. His family fueled that early spark: his Uncle Manny bought him his first barber kit, and his mother's encouragement kept him going as he began cutting hair for cousins, friends, and neighbors.

Barbering remained constant as his life moved between the Bronx and Brooklyn, and it followed him into the Marine Corps (following in his father’s footsteps), where he cut hair for fellow Marines at home and abroad. After his service, he turned that lifelong craft into a career, naming his shop Crown Street in honor of his roots, where it all began.

early journeys

Anthony's formal journey began at T&I Barber School under the guidance of Mrs. Hill, who grounded her students in both the fundamentals and the finer points of the craft. One lesson stuck with him above all: "If you want something you've never had, you need to do things you've never done." That mindset became his compass. After graduating, Anthony sought out mentorship across different barbershops, learning firsthand from a range of shop owners and honing his skills through real-world experience. Along the way, he launched Atabey Pomade and took his talent on the road—traveling up and down the East Coast for hair shows and barber competitions, sharpening his craft and building his name in the industry.

In 2023, Crown Street Barber Studio officially came to life. For three years, Anthony worked independently, delivering luxury grooming services and refining the experience he envisioned for his clients. That dedication laid the foundation for something bigger: the decision to open Crown Street Luxury Grooming and Wellness—a space where that same elevated standard could grow into a full, multi-service destination.
